Write a Letter to the Editor!

Here at The Daily Pasty, we have plenty of digital ink—and we’d like to share some of it with you.

We accept Letters to the Editor for consideration alongside our regular stories. Selected letters will be published on The Daily Pasty website and may also be shared on our social media platforms.

Letters are limited to 500 words. Please skip the “Dear Editor” opening—we already know who you’re writing to, and we’ve got the “Dear” part covered. We recommend writing and proofreading your letter in a program such as Microsoft Word first, then pasting the finished version into the form below. A little spell-check goes a long way.

Published letters will appear with your title first, followed by the letter itself. At the end, we’ll identify you by your first name, last initial, and city or town.

Submission does not guarantee publication. The Daily Pasty has full discretion over which letters we publish, and we may decline or edit submissions for length, clarity, grammar, taste, or legal concerns.

And yes, this is The Daily Pasty. Funny is encouraged. Weird is welcome. Satire has a home here. If you’ve got something that will make people across the U.P. laugh, we’re interested. Public officials, candidates, community personalities, and those especially loud and outspoken characters who make local life interesting are all fair subjects for satire and commentary.

That said, there’s a difference between sharp satire and making unsupported factual accusations about someone. We won’t publish material we believe crosses that line. If your letter makes serious factual claims about a person or organization, be prepared to back them up.

Make a point. Make us think. Better yet, make us laugh.
