Mother Nature has once again chosen chaos as her guiding principle. The week begins with enough thunderstorms to keep every neighborhood weather expert busy on Facebook before settling into a stretch of classic Upper Peninsula summer weather.
Western U.P.
⛈️ Monday: Hot and humid with scattered thunderstorms, some capable of heavy rain, hail, gusty winds, and isolated severe weather. Great day to secure the lawn furniture before it relocates itself.
🌦️ Tuesday: Much cooler with mostly cloudy skies and a few lingering showers. A perfect excuse to tell everyone, “See? I knew summer was over.”
☀️ Wednesday: Sunny, comfortable, and downright pleasant. Enjoy it while it lasts—this is the annual three-hour window where nobody complains.
🌤️ Thursday: Sunshine mixed with a few clouds as temperatures climb back into the 80s. Ice cream sales expected to rebound dramatically.
🌤️ Friday: Warm with partly sunny skies. Ideal weather for pretending you’re going to stain the deck before deciding fishing sounds better.
Central U.P.
⛈️ Monday: Warm, muggy, and unsettled with scattered thunderstorms possible throughout the day. Keep both sunglasses and rain gear handy—you’ll probably need both.
🌥️ Tuesday: Cooler with mostly cloudy skies and the chance for a passing shower. Overnight sleeping conditions receive unanimous approval from Yoopers.
☀️ Wednesday: Sunshine returns with comfortable temperatures and low humidity. Even the mosquitoes may briefly consider taking the day off.
🌤️ Thursday: Mostly sunny and warming up nicely. Summer remembers it still has a job to do.
🌤️ Friday: Warm with a mix of sun and clouds. Patio season resumes as everyone forgets Monday ever happened.
Eastern U.P.
⛈️ Monday: Warm and humid with scattered thunderstorms, some capable of heavy downpours. If you’re heading to the woods, the trees may not be the wettest thing you’ll encounter.
🌥️ Tuesday: Noticeably cooler with plenty of clouds and an isolated shower. Sweatshirts briefly emerge from hibernation.
☀️ Wednesday: Bright sunshine and comfortable temperatures make for one of the nicest days of the week. Expect at least one tourist to ask if it’s “always this perfect.”
🌤️ Thursday: Mostly sunny and warmer with classic midsummer weather returning across the region.
🌤️ Friday: Partly sunny and warm. Excellent conditions for camping, boating, or explaining to visitors that this still isn’t considered “hot.”
The Daily Pasty Outlook
Monday tries its best to keep meteorologists employed. Tuesday reminds everyone why they own hoodies in July. Wednesday is about as close to weather perfection as the U.P. gets, while Thursday and Friday ease back into warm summer conditions just in time for weekend plans.
In other words, it’s a perfectly normal Yooper week: pack shorts, a raincoat, a sweatshirt, and perhaps a small emotional support canoe.
